Meetin' Thy Maker - the Message behind the Song

Hey, this is Mass Dogg again, droppin’ a line on the website.  Look forward to these blogs weekly for you to read and think about as you go through your everyday business.  

Isaiah 10:1-2 says, “Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and write grievousness which they have prescribed; To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!” 

Let me explain with a question.  Are we a democracy or a republic as a nation?  Can you guess?  Most people say a democracy, which means that our rights come from the “state” or government, in which they call them privileges and not rights.  Say your Pledge of Allegiance out loud. I pledge allegiance to the flag……… and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands, one nation under God….!  A Republic is based off of law or the Common law, the Ten Commandments, in which we are not only held accountable to the law of the land, but also before God who gave us the law.  Laws don’t change, the people do. 

The Bible says in Proverbs 28:2, “For the transgression of a land, many are the princes thereof:” You see, the problem is that if we can’t govern ourselves and restrain ourselves, then more laws, or policies are created to restrain you. Hosea 4:6 says “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:” It is your responsibility to know the Constitution, and the law of God, then you can hold people around you and also in government accountable not only to the law but to God as well.    

If you have listened to the music, we wrote a song called "Meetin’ Thy Maker", which deals with the government and the media lying to you on a day-to-day basis.  The bottom line is one day whether sooner or later, we will all stand before the One who sees all things …”naked and open unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do” (Hebrews 4:13).
