Remember Me

What is the price of freedom?  What does freedom mean?  Where does it come from?  Here is an example. A man was a drunk his whole life.  Nothing mattered to this guy because “life is a party” and “live it to the fullest.” After all, “I have my freedom.”  One day his life style caught up to him, and he ended up in the hospital needing a kidney transplant.  He cries, weeps and begs for someone to help. Your dad, who is a generous man, hears of his plea and says, “You know, I am willing to do this for him. God sacrificed for me, I can give life, too”.  The man receives his transplant. Once things are back to normal, he goes back to drinking and partying again.

Does that man deserve the second chance he got at life?  Is he grateful?  1 Peter 1:13-19 says, “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, … But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”

Freedom is the product of a right choice.  If you know that it cost someone their life and blood for the freedom that you have, why would you go and disgrace that very thing with a rebellious lifestyle?  Do you truly honor what men and women of the Armed Forces fought and died for?  You as a citizen should uphold freedom, and stop any kind of rebellion or tyranny against the Constitution of the United States, for the love of freedom and country.

Christ did the same thing. He paid the ultimate price, knowing that some would reject Him. He knew freedom was only found through peace with God by the shedding of blood, therefore He gave His life to bless mankind with it (freedom)!  “Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works” (Titus 2:14). "Remember Me" is a song dedicated to bring an understanding of this, and to live for what they died for. Listen with your heart, and ask the Lord to give you knowledge and wisdom to be an example to all those around you.
