Study to Show Yourself Approved

So how is it that people in America can overlook learning the Constitution, and still call themselves Americans?  I thought that if you wanted to be the best at something, you learn the basics or the fundamentals.  How did Michael Jordan become one of the greatest basketball players of all time?  Not only practice, but imagine if he could dribble, shoot and run without knowing the rules of the game. His skills would be useless, and he couldn’t call himself a player.  Well, how do people in this country expect to be the best, and the land of the free, but yet not know the freedoms that our veterans and statesmen of old fought and, in many cases, even died to defend?  

Many times we think it’s someone else's responsibility to do that, such as politicians and other government figures.  But the whole time the Lord is pointing the finger right at us and saying, "…be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves" (James 1:22).  It's up to us to know the truth that makes men free. It's up to us to seek and save that which is lost with that truth, not them to come to us.  The question is, What kind of knowledge will you give them if you don't know the truth for yourself?  Do you study to show yourself approved unto God?  Are you led to reach the masses, or even just your co-workers, or are you too selfish to speak of what Christ has done in you?  If so, has Christ done a work within you?  It's better to know now, than on that day when God judges us all.
