The Law and Love

What would America be without morality?  What if there were no stop signs, streetlights, yield signs, or speed limit signs?  CHAOS!!!!! It would be like playing football without any rules or regulations, which would make football no longer a game, but a mess.  Just think about it.  A country of people making up their own laws of life, and saying or insinuating that if you tell them that their lifestyles are wrong, you hate them.

Psalm 111:10 says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments". When I speak to parents on the streets, I ask them, "How can we tell our kids that they have freedom of expression, and then when they 'break the law', we punish them for it?" It’s a double standard, which only produces hatred for the law, because they have it in their heads that people are against them rather than them being against the law.  It’s the law that should be reverenced and feared, not the law reverencing the person.  Here is another question… Why isn't a love for law taught to the youth of this country, but rather a mentality of "if you don't like that law, we can change it"?

1 John 3:18 says a lot on love, how it’s demonstrated, and not said.  Love is a term that is so misused and misunderstood, that now lust or a selfish desire is considered love, when love in its truest sense, only gives and never expects in return.  So in retrospect, when you love something, you give your life for it, and diligently pursue it.  The best example is Jesus Christ, who gave all for us so that we could be in union with His Father (John 15:13, Ephesians 2:16). Remember God gave us his laws because He loves.  Do you love Him back?
