The Lesser of Two Evils is STILL Evil

I was thinking about current events, and what came to mind were the Presidential elections coming up.  You always hear the phrase, "Well, I have to vote for the lesser of two evils! I can't waste my vote."  And I have to say, up until 6 or 7 years ago, I used to think the same way.  But as Christians, are we not supposed to do what’s right ALL of the time?  1 Peter 3:21 states, "The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ."  It’s conscience that we are to answer for, not what we think will work.

The Chinese have a proverb that states, "A single grain of rice can tilt the scales."  Jesus said, "A little leaven leaveneth the WHOLE LUMP."  If you vote for the lesser of the two evils, IT'S STILL EVIL!  How can you justify your decision before God, if it wasn't the one in your heart?  We have this misconception in America that we just "leave it up to them", because after all.... "I did my duty".  But the question is, was it right?  Stand before God knowing you did the right thing and vote and get involved for the one who glorifies God in his actions, not just his words.  YOUR country depends on it!  Oh, by the way, John Quincy Adams said this:  “Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”
