Time Flies!

It seems like it was yesterday, that I had called everyone in the ministry, and told them the good news: IT’S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!  This past Sunday, we celebrated his 1st birthday.   Where does the time go? It’s a question that people have asked since the beginning.  Someone once told me that when elderly people were asked if there was anything they could change about the past, the common reply was: I wish I would’ve taken more chances.

1 Corinthians 15:34 says, “Awake to righteousness, and sin not: for some have not the knowledge of God….” What exactly does that mean according to God?   Ephesians 5:15-16 says, “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”   We have a job to do!  At least 3-4 times a week, we hear of another suicide, or “My kid got hooked on drugs.”  In a song we wrote called "Why?", there are two guys in which one died from a car wreck and the other, an overdose.  The crazy thing about it is, not only were they told NO and didn’t listen, they thought that they had another day, when the Bible says in James 4:14, “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

Not only is this a warning to those who don’t know Christ, it is a warning to those who know the truth and do nothing with it! Would you not want someone to warn you of danger, if they knew it was coming? That’s true love (1 John 3:18)!!!!!  Remember the reply from the elderly: I wish I would have taken more chances?  “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14)  My kid changed the way I look at life, and now I know more and more that there is no time to waste. I’ll end it with this: Titus 2:11-12, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation, hath appeared to all men. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.”
