Tolerant?

Stephanie 2

"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.” -Thomas Jefferson.

It's amazing how people, especially church people, don't even think about the first part of this quote.  The only reason people even are compelled to do anything sinful, is because it is in them.  They themselves have not heeded to what sin is or what God abhors.  Nowadays, "sin" is disguised under the word “tolerance,” which in fact, if God the Father tolerated sin, Jesus Christ would not have needed to die.  Titus 2:14 says, "Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from ALL iniquity (sin, 1 John 3:4), and PURIFY unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."  Think about it for a minute.

Now, when the people get that part right, they will understand that the things that are being propagated are indeed false, and they will not tolerate anything that offends God.  Most of the things that taxes pay for wouldn't even be brought into question, nor would crookedness exist in government.  We can't, as a society, complain about the things going wrong if we are the ones allowing it to happen.  We have to do things God’s way, and though it may be offensive, it is the best cure for the ailment of rotten society.

Last, I’ll leave you with a quote from John Adams.  "Posterity! You will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it."
